Frequent Signs and Symptoms

SENSORY: Loss of vibratory sense; loss of temperature recognition, pain and touch sensation; loss of position sense; dizziness, loss of  balance; numbness; miscellaneous sensations (burning patches, needle-like stabbing, buzzing, bug-like crawling on skin, tight band sensation, feeling of thick padding or crumpled paper on bottoms of feet. All of these are defined as paresthesia which is defined as "inappropriate sensations"), electrical sensations; loss of joint sensibility.

VISUAL: Jerky eyes, double vision, split or dividing images, loss of color vision, blurred or dimmed vision, blindness.

SPEECH: Scanning speech, slurred speech.

MOTOR: Weakness, paralysis, clumsiness, intention tremor, spasticity (muscle rigidity), poor coordination, "heavy" extremities, clonus.

BOWEL/BLADDER: Frequency, urgency, incontinence, retention, constipation.

FATIGUE: poor stamina, lack of energy (especially when too warm i.e. during a hot shower, being outdoors or in a warm room)

MENTAL: Emotional lability, cognitive (awareness) changes, slowed processing.

ENVIRONMENTAL: susceptibility to heat and cold, mostly heat.
