Trooper Skills

HELP WANTED !!!

There is no job too small/big as someone has to be a doer. After the reunion 3/5 CAV continues to need volunteers in all activities. Running the organization takes skills: telephone, IT, personal contacts, administrative, office knowledge etc etc etc.

Nothing gets done without someone doing it.

                      Columbus, Georgia  July 26-30, 2017

This letter is to communicate our plans thus far. It outlines the activities that are currently planned and their associated cost. It consists of three parts. The first three pages describe the activities that require signup and payment. Second is a sheet requesting some biographical information. This sheet is part of our on-going process to collect data for our Squadron and Troop Rosters and to also be used in the creation of name badges for the reunion participants. The third part is the actual signup and remittance form.

This reunion is unique in many ways. There is no one facility in the Columbus area that can accommodate our size and activities. Because of this we will be spread out over two or three hotels and some activities will be held on or near Fort Benning or the National Infantry Museum. Our memorial will be located in Patton Park which is on the grounds of where the National Armor and Cavalry Museum will be located. Our primary hotel is the DoubleTree and as such will host our Squadron and Troop Meetings, the Hospitality Room and be the primary focal point of our reunion. Last year the 11th Armored Cavalry moved their memorial and had their reunion in the area. If I remember correctly I believe they were spread out over 4 or 5 hotels.
Many of our activities are near or in the National Infantry Museum and there will be time to visit the displays.
Our banquet will be held in the National Infantry Museum utilizing the main lobby and adjoining areas.
Be aware that while it is possible to drive to some of the locations, parking is limited. There are ID requirements if you are driving and wish to go on post.

There is no ‘break’ on the price of activities if you don’t use the bus transportation that we provide.
