April 8th - April 15th 1969 –“OPERATION ELLIS RAVINE” Quang Tri Province, I Corps –

Search and Destroy and road building operations in the Ba Long Valley west of Quang Tri. Other areas were Ca Lu and LZ Sharon. Units also involved were the 5^th Mech, 1^st Battalion 11^th Infantry Division, 4-12^th Cavalry, A/7 Engineer Battalion and the 1^st & 2^nd ARVN Regiments. No significant contact with the enemy was established. 3^rd/5^th Cavalry moved on to operations in “Leatherneck Square”.
